NSW GOVERNMENT Poison 1080 - Wild Dog & Fox Ground Baiting Programs - Friday 1 November 2024 to Wednesday 30 April 2025. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting strategic Wild Dog and Fox control programs using Poison 1080 with fresh meat, manufactured baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE's). Poison 1080 baits will be delivered on the ground. The baiting programs will occur from Friday 1 November 2024 to Wednesday 30 April 2025. The reserves included are Abercrombie River National Park (NP), Southern Blue Mountains NP, Kanangra-Boyd NP, Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, Turon NP, Marrangaroo NP, Gardens of Stone NP and south-west Wollemi NP. These programs are designed to minimise the impacts of wild dogs and foxes on neighbouring stock and wildlife including threatened species such as the brush-tailed rock-wallaby. Domestic animals may be affected. Poison 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Residents should restrain domestic animals and ensure they do not enter the baiting location during poisoning operations. It is recommended that working dogs are muzzled if they are required to work near the baiting location during or after poisoning operations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance. For further information contact the NPWS Kanangra Area office at Oberon (02) 6336 6200 during business hours.
